Problem in DV quality from Sony DV Cam

Hi
I have Sony TRV 120 NTSC DV camcorder and i use a fire wire card in my pc to capture video . The problem is i have used ulead video studio, ulead dvd workshop and also pinnacle studio 7 to capture to the higest quality dv video avi , but the quality of avi captured is very poor with scan lines and lot of interlacing. Recently i captured with the windows movie maker bundled with windows xp and i captured much better video than the above mentioned programs.
i am really perplexed that such proffesional video capture programs give suh bad quality and such a generic windows movie maker gives better quality.
Or i need a better driver for my camera
pls help

Thanks

Have you tried capturing with VirtualDUB ? Its freeware and is really one of the best. A driver update is generally a good thing also.

Chickenman, i thought Virtualdub only captured analogue correct me if i am wrong,
Kabutar, i would suggest that you go to the hardware manager in control box and delete the firewire card from the list. when you reboot windows should automatically re detect the card and reload the correct drivers
hope this does the trick
try downloading Vegas Video Vidcap, this is a good capture tool

Totally dependant on your drivers. If the drivers are Video for Windows (VFW) compliant capture drivers then no problems. If not, then you cant.
