Problem: DVD Movies on Playstation 2

Hello to all!

This is the 2nd time that i try to backup a DVD movie and my PS2 don´t reconize de disc. The Backup runs OK on the computer dvd drive and in the the stand alone dvd´s players.

The PS2 (V7) shows a messsege similar to this: Please insert a PlayStation or PlayStation 2 disc.

The funny thing is that i´ve already tried other DVD backups and they run Ok with both formats -R and +R. But i´ve got those who work from a diferent friend. I don´t know if its a software choise problem, those that i´m triyng to backp now are being burn whith nero...

Can anyone help me...any sugestions or advices on the best whay to backup, and what kind of software is best!

could be something as simple as PAL/NTSC is your ps2 PAL OR NTSC !? the DVD you are trying to playback maby the opposite of what your system is

Both the PS2 and movie are PAL...the original movie works fine on my PS2 both the backups don´t.
I´ve tried backups of diferent DVD´s movies by other guys and they worked fine on Both - and + R formats. That is why i think its a software problem. The non working backups ware made whith nero and Movie Jack!

Do you know a god software to backup my movies and play then on my PS2 ?

I´m going mad!!

hmmmmmmmm im guessing that whoever made the burn with NERO that no doubt its NERO at fault

it tends to mess video burning up with vcds/svcds too

IMHO the best for dvd burning is Recordnow Max.Also is your ps 2 chipped.

no...the PS2 as no chip, but as i said...some backups work fine and some don´t!

i CAN confirm that most if not ALL dvd movie backups i use play fine on a PS2
