problem deleting norton system works

Hello ... This is quite new to me but hope you understand my problem. I had recently been given a pirate copy of norton system works 2004 and all seemed to work well using the registration numbers etc. After a week or so the programme started to play up, certain things like anti virius would not work. I decided to remove the prog from the computer but everytime I now log on, bits of norton keep popping up. How can I completely remove norton from my hard drive ? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.
