Problem Creating Dual-Layer (DVD9) DVDs with Sonic Fusion

I want to create a Dual-Layer DVD using Sonic Fusion SE, but in the Project Information Window the Drop-Down Field "Capacity: [single layer | dual layer] is greyed out and can not be changed to [dual layer].

Does anyone know why this happens. The Program (Sonic Fusion SE) is said to support dual layer DVDs.

Thanks for Your help.

have you actually got dual layered dvds or are you trying to burn a dual onto a single layer 4.7gb disk

I don't want to burn the DVDs myself. I just wanted to create an image-file for a dual-layer DVD and send it to a company that creates the DVDs. As I need many DVDs, it would not be possible to burn them on my own.

It could be the software did not detect a suitable dvd writer.Only commercial systems can do that (dual layer format). You could try using dvd decrypter to get the files to your HD.Or use a software that will split to 2 discs.

I believe this is where your problem lies. DVDFusion is an excellent DVD Authoring tool for the MAC (although thay have it for Win2k now). Not cheap... $3999.00 for LE version... but quite good.

Sounds to me like you are a business and not the casual home user, so my answer will be along those lines.

You are trying to author and create that DVD to a DVD-9, a burner you do not have. Usually only replication houses can afford the expense. You most assuredly have a Pioneer A05 or A06 if you are on a MAC, which only supports DVD-5.

Haven't used this proggie for a little while, but I believe that you can author the DVD-9 image to a drive (Firewire), and have your replication house use it to create a DVD-9 for you. Best to ask your replication house to see what they recommend.
