Problem coverting DVD to AVI

I followed chickenmans tuturial and used smartripper/vidomi.

It went almost fine but I there is some problems.

1. the only way to play the subtitles in the avi file is to use vidomiplayer, but when I played the movie in vidomi there was no sound (there is sound in all other players) and subtitle doesn't exist at all.

2. when playing the movie in "power DVD" the widescreen fields is gone and I get a strange resolution. but they are there while playing the movie in winamp.

so how do I solve these problems and how can I create a subtitle that's avaible in all players?

If you have your sub file named same as the AVI and dvobsub (part of VSFilter) installed then the subs should autoload with any dshow based player you have. If you use Media Player Classic then they should work regardless if you have it set to VMR7/9 output as it has built in subtitle support.

Your problem with PowerDVD is I believe a problem with PowerDVD. I used to get it with an older version, but do not now.
