Problem copying DVD with Pioneer 104 and Prassi Primo

I am having a major problem copying DVD using a Pioneer 104 and Prassi Primo. I have read just about every thread here looking for an answer but can't find one.

I am copying disc to disc using the 104 as the reader and also the writer. It goes thru the entire copy process as if everything is ok. Once it completes reading it ejects the disc. Then it takes a couple hours testing and writing. Once it completes it says everything is ok.

But....everything is not ok. There is nothing written on the DVD except the file structure. In windows explorer the original DVD and the copy has the same identical file structure, but on the copied DVD you can see that there is only a very tiny circle on the DVD where it was written.

I have used 3 different DVD media. I am now at a standstill and don't know what to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Disc to Disc !!

You cannot make DVD copy using Disc to Disc. You have to used ripper software to riped the DVD VIDEO_TS Folder. Check your DVDs, what is the volume of the DVDs GB. If is more than 4.7GB,
just watch the org DVDs will do.

At my local site, i only can copy not more than 4.3GB DVD Video.
Due to market DVDs they are using dual layer 8.4GB disc. So...
can you copy disc to dsic...:(

Thanks...that's what I have discovered. I am looking at a few programs to help. I found one guide and instructions that uses DVD Decrypter, IfoEdit, DVD-R calculator, ReMPEG2 & DVD2AVI, and VOBRator. I'm gonna give this a shot and see what happens.

If anyone uses something easier and/or better, I am certainly open to suggestions.

hmm... it depends on your original DVD which steps are required and how easy it is to copy it ;)
--> don´t use ReMpeg2 --> bad quality and it´s really slow ...

CCE 2.50/2.64(i use 2.64) = CinemaCraftEncoder --> best for real good quality movies + it is very fast !

Thanks..I will give it a try....do I still use IfoEdit with it?

Sorry for the questions as I am very new with DVD stuff. I can do pretty much anything with CDR & CDRW but I am determined to be able to do the same with DVD.

I found where I can download a trial version of CCE v 2.64, but there are two versions. CCE-SP and CCE-Lite. Which one should I get?

Smartripper & DVD Junior

I used the above soft to make my DVDs copy.
Encoding is 2 much time to work out a DVDs. It may have audio problem when final DVD output. A DVD junior will do all the work for u. The best soft for multi channel copy AC3 and DTS.

@ Strahlen --> I think CCE is better( for SVCDs and DVDs=mpg2) cause u can do up to 9pass VBR..... and it is faster (I think)

@ Kegramps --> dl the sp version ....
take a look at the tutorial section --> there is no guide (here) --> which includes all steps ...but u can combine them and it would be the same ;)

@ac3cd --> transcoding takes me only up to 6 hours for 3 pass VBR and I do it overnight... btw .. there r NO audio problems !!
