problem converting XVID

I went word for word on the totorial on Chicken Man's divx to dvd. But when i went to preview the video dvd2svcd gave the this error:

avisource:could not decompress

I couldn't export the stuff from gspot but its an XVID video codec with ac3 48khz audio. Sorry for so little info hope you can't still help

Uninstall your DivX and Xvid codec and reinstall the VERY LATEST versions.

i fixed it it was virtual dub it was a beta vertion i guess i found a bug
also when i was converting the video CCE would stop befor it would start the encode. I had to come over and click on encode for it to take off and go. I don't know why this happend. Can you help me.
