|PROB| TEAC 24x DOESN'T RECORD FASTER

Hi there,
I have TEAC 24x 10x 40x (W524-E) and WinXP ENG with SP and latest version of Nero v5.5.9.17 and last CloneCD v4.2.0.2, but both of these progz doesn't record my cds at 24x! It wrote only about 10x, dunno why!? Everything was fine before, I'm using same blank CDs..I tried to install newest ASPI and reinstall Nero & Clone, but nothing is working...PLZ HELP ME! Is there any problem with hardware or with properties on my comp (software)?

What speed are your CDR's rated to? It could be the brand/the write speed my lite-on gave me this problem it's 48x but only gave me the option to write at 32x max so i ummmd and arrrd and realised it was the cdr when i put a 48x rated cdr in hey presto up popped the 48x option.....also sometimes smartburn can cause problems try disabling it see what happens. If this doesn't work then sorry.

I turned on DMA, but it's working on PIO, take a look:
Transfer Mode: DMA if available
Current Transfer Mode: PIO Mode
Why the hell??
