printer driver

Hey guys,

Yesterday I tried to install win 2000 os, with some avail it came up with this message: some hardware may not be supported by win 2000 or software may be reg. as hardware: bad news it was my printer it a Lexmark 150c; so I went to lexmark webpage for new driver but with no avail(what a S**t site) they could'nt show me a driver that supports both my printer using win2000.

My ? is: is there a driver that I can use to support printer using win 2000, or is it gonna be a new printer?

also American Greeting Cards is not supported, any ideas?

I've contacted AGC allready; just wait for reply

Try this page:

h**p://www.drivershq.com/

Maybe it's not there, but give it a try, maybe someone else made one. I couldn't search for it, because I don't know the model.

Cheers,

El_Matador

PS: You can also try Win 2k SP3, but I doubth it is supported.

thank matador, nice driver site.

although it was'nt there for me. The links take you back to lexmark site. Where I can't even find a e-mail address for support, who knows maybe because printer is old they did'nt even come out with driver that works with win2000.

@ joripe: would you suggest installing anyway?

and if printer & Greeting card progg's don't work, is it real difficult to go back to win98 without formatting hhd.(downgrading)

losing address book in American Greeting Cards would be my head on a platter (I'm getting married in about 4 weeks and I'll need address's for thank you's);)

printer stats:
make: lexmark color inkjet printer
model: winwriter150c

Hi Crater,

You canalso try this, it says it's for all version, but was posted September 2k, so it's a wild guess.

Please don't do anything with it, till after your marriage and honeymoon. I don't want to be considered responsible for your fiancee kicking you out of her life (LOL :D )

Crater,
I looked for almost two hours and couldn't find one for you. Even tried their printer driver support centre, Whew! That's one good reason not to buy a Lexmark printer

another printer driver problem:
i got an old dot matrix printer (Star LC-10) and i'm using win2k it has native support for that printer but i can't print anything correctly, it starts printing in graphics (uses very much color tape) and after a few lines it starts printing only shi*. i don't want to print any graphics with that one, only simple text but it uses graphics mode for text, too, because the printer doesn't support any TTF text mode ... it has some fonts built in and these are enough for me.
now i need a driver that can send the text data to the printer in text mode ! like old dos style: "copy filename.txt > lpt1"
or "type text you wanna print > lpt1"
that way still works but i want to use programs like ultraedit to print something
even a small tray prog that can send the clipboard contents in text mode to the printer would be enough, perhaps someone could code that in C++ ... for me
i hope someone can help me
thx,
FortiTude
ps: i tried raw mode in the native printer support of win2k and it didn't help. and i got one win95.exe from one of the pages in that thread but i can't install, iconlib.dll / iconlib.dl_ is missing
i found that file on the net but it says after copying the files:
"Unable to install Star LC-10, Windows2000, Intel driver. Operation could not be completed"
