Prices

Anyone not catching USA news, computer prices DROPPING (at least for Xmas) so if looking for hardware my theory as some GREAT GREAT deals should be out there. Hope memory drops!

do you guys over the pod have comuter fairs like what we do over here?
you can pick cheap parts up for computers at them, i heard you guys dont go in for that sort of thing that much.

some

The OLD fairs are gone. 1-2 times a year at the airport and advertisd on TV as SOOOO cheap. PAY for parking, PAY to get in, it is cheap? Maybe if you want quantity I think. I am sure the PO-lice are there too checking S/Ns.

Summer fairs are out in the sticks.

We have them in Southern California and yes they are fun. But as ChiMusic said...everybody in these shows got greedy...$5 parking fees $7 entrance fees. You better make sure you are purchasing enough to make it worth the these fees.

Plus, you need to be carefull. 1/2 of the shows vendors sell gray market stuff...which means no warantee from the manufacturer only from the vendor and with most of them its 60 to 90 days. Very risky unless you know what you are doing.

Other than that, they are good fun to look at all the new/latest PC equipment. Which is sometimes alone worth the entrance fees ;)

new sale

One store sale was not in the paper and I had to D/L Acrobat sale. My ATI 9000 PRO 128 meg w/rebate $120.

Western Digital 40 gig $50 w/rebate, 7200.

Burners plain old sales. DVD BURNERS getting hot on sales.

Printers are NOT a bargain! Got the 2 PRIOR at a steal!

NO software really on sale. But you can go to the websites for specials/upgrades.

I get Broderbund by snail mail ads. $20 UPGRADES. You can go register a program, no S/N required, and then get their mail upgrade offers later. I am starting to use NAMED programs I had in DOS. That must mean something.
