hi

I bought a lite-on 16x DVD Rom and when I tryed to install the software that came with it (PowerDVD XP) I got the following messege!

Error Number 0x8007072
Description - Imcompatable version of the RPC stub


I am running win 98se

any idea what the problem could be??

Incompatible version of the RPC stub. In a nutshell, this error is caused by a DLL that was installed on your system...it's not compatable.

M$ has a patch for this...mcrepair.exe

Just downloaded the patch ran it and the problem was fixed
