Hi there,
I've got problem with my NEC 1300A...when I try to burn DVD 4x speed there's a message:"POWER CALIBRAION ERROR".
I've received thios message a couple of times when I burned for 2-3hours and it was very hot....when it cools down everything was OK.
BUT now I can't burn anything with 4x speed..only 2x,which is terribly slow:(((
I tryed 1.08,1.09 and now 1.0A firmware with the same result...I use DVD-R Multidisk 4x all the time and there was no problem with them.I asked some friends and they told me it should be the media....does anyone else have his kind of problem???
Thanks Martin.

usually power calibration errors more often than not relate to bad / poor media try burning slower say 2x or 1 x see if that helps :)

other than that try a different media :)

you may find that you could have a bad batch :(

I agree with that but also sometimes it could mean the drive is on the way out. Try a program like DVD Identifier to see who makes it and to find out if its junk.
But like VIPER said try better media. Good luck.:)

Yeap I had this same issue with lazer discs on my 107, I went over to princo and no issues what so ever.

As a side note, I had no problems with the lazer dvds on my 105 just goes to show how sensitive the 107 is!
