---------------------------------------------------------------------

Version 8.50 [07/01/2003]

Major changes:

* Internal Viewer: additional support for more than 14 graphic
formats (PNG, JPEG, TIFF, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Autodesk
images files, SGI, Truevision images, PCX, ...).

versions.

* Web Update Enhancements: New web update check facility that
has ability to preview version changes before downloading
update.

* New toolbar: it can be docked or float and it works better
with Win98. It is also much smaller and takes up less space
allowing for more buttons to be shown.

* Solved all minor graphic issues when using Win98 and certain
graphic cards.

* PowerArchiver is now faster, load times are significantly
improved.

* Memory usage has been optimized and reduced.

Improvements:

* "Open with..." option in PowerArchiver works exactly as in
Windows Explorer now.

* Option for enabling/disabling "Compress to ??? + Options"
in Explorer Shell Extensions.

* Option for disabling saving of archives opened from Internet
Explorer and associated programs.

* Folder Shortcut bar in Add window.

* Timeout option for FTP Profiles.

* Default folders now work in shell extensions as well.

* Explorer view now shows current folder path.

* Optimized PowerArchiver when working with 100,000+ files in
the archive.

* Improved dialog for toolbar customization (drag & drop support,
selecting button order, ...).

* Full support when using WindowBlinds 4.x for skinning
PowerArchiver 2003.

* Huge overall interface improvements, enhancements,
optimizations and bug fixes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Somehow it's popularity declined quite a bit since it lost its freeware status, but still Power Archiver is an exhellent archive manager.

Still unresolved - not showing the file size (of the replacement) in the file replace dialog when unzipping - according to some chat in their forum, it's a problem with the unzip routines (dynazip by Innnermedia)

Is this mean, that if you have a compressed file(zip or rar)and inside is a compressed image(picture)you can see it with a internal wiever????Couse winrar3 cant do that????Am i correct here???

Yes you can... although I always use Total Commander for such jobs- totally transparent: You just browse inside the archive of the archive of the archive like you've been browsing inside folders, point to your desired file and press F3... couldn't be simpler, and an archive that Total Commander cannot open is NOT known yet (password protected/encrypted ones excluded).

I installed that power archiverr yesterday and its ok,,,,,,Gui is much nicer then winrar.....fast for a big files too....Good archiver really.....But i just like winrar--or in combo with a tc...Tc got gefinetly most and best organized keybord shorcuts..Period!!!!!!!!!! :)

IMO the only PA shortcomig is that it does not support compression to "good" formats- .7z and .rar.
And while the .rar omission is well undertsood (only .rar v.2 compression is allowed by Rarsoft without a license, but rar v.2 is nothing special...) the omission of the opensource 7-zip (both ends!) is just based on PA developers (Ivan Petrovic) dislike for it's 7-zip colleague... sad indeed.
But as you said, if you have a fullblown Total Commander you don't need any archiver in parallel- that beast does it all, and perfectly well.
