Now then....... that got your attention!
My question is......... I'm having loads of trouble trying to put .avi files onto DVD, could this be because they're porno films??? Is there something in instant cd/dvd that'll stop me recording pornos??? I HOPE NOT!! ;-O)))

NO but further discussion debateable (cos where did the Avis come from) if there from the usual dubious sources they are probably badly encoded.

Thanks!
They're from "Share Reactor" and I think they're ok, I've used "G Spot" on them and they come out ok, I've got the correct codecs etc.
Obviously I want to get this working to do more than copy P**no films!?
Thanks for help so far! A

@Aaron UK be warned that you are treading borderline of the forum ruling here regarding stuff downloaded from SHARE REACTOR /P2P clients as 9 times outta 10 they are PIRATE/ILLEGAL COPIES of films whatever style/shape or form...

PLEASE READ the forum <a href="http://cdrbase.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=58">RULES</a> here thanks !

OK, point taken, I didn't realise that it was "naughty" to download and burn them for your own use, if it is then please accept my apologies for compromising your excellent forum.
Thanks for the reply though.
Regards
Aaron

@Aaron UK anything that you do not own legitimate ...ie a film/movie/album etc which you yourself have not purchased and DOWNLOADED instead from P2P or other shareclient then no doubt you will possibly breeching some copywrite laws along the way especially in the case of MOVIES/VIDEOS and MUSIC albums :(

Don't worry about the forum we are not compromised with your post :)

We are merely sticking to our rules as best we can to avoid getting into all sorts of bother and dealing with illegal/stolen material :)

other than that enjoy your stay :)

Transferring AVI files to DVDRs

Aaron,
In order to transfer AVI files to a DVDR, you first need to use a program to encode the AVI file to an MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 file (your choice, but MPEG-2 provides better resolution). A program like TMPGENC (see www.pegasys-inc.com) does an excellent job of this. Then, you need a program to encode *that* MPEG file to what are called "DVD compliant" files. These files comprise 3 file extensions: .vob, .bup and .ife. I'm using pegasys-inc's "sister" program, TMPGENC DVD Author, for that, and it is just outstanding. (Took me a while to learn it, but once I did...whew...!). Now, IF..you have Windows XP, TMPGENC DVD Author will even burn the files onto a DVDR, which, of course, will be in your DVD burner drive, waiting to be made into something useful! If I can help further, please send a message, through DVDRBASE.COM, or write at kctexan@comcast.net
That is all. Breckinridge.

Hi, yes I've read all that's ever been written on the subject....... or so it seems!
I think I'm finally getting there though after "KCTEXAN" pointed me in the right direction.
Thanks to all for your help, without you I'd surely have thrown my computer out of the window!!!!
