Yeah this drive is gonna be one hot seller,in fact out of stock in many places already.It is a 2 sheep burner and is able to write the latest Sd2 titles without any help of emulation,or patching.Looks like Plextor got it right with this drive!Take a look here.

Yes, only on a few readers.It is still in it's infancy,but looks promising.

bleh i paid £110 for my 24/10/40a bleh

about 2 year or so ago now

but i would consider purchasing this if the price drops off a little

Ahh but is it worth over double the price of a decent burner???

The old adage of pay more 4 better quality doesn't hold up nowadays

I always used 2 buy sony cause i thought i was payin 4 the quality, but out of all me electrical stuff, the sony's went boom first while the much older stuff just went on & on

I guess that's why you can buy a lot of refurbushed plextors.

LOL!!

Actually the real reason is if you have any problems,they quite often send a new drive out.Their service is quite good.This includes people that don't know how to hook it up,or use software.The ones they refurbish are probably these.Even though there are some bad drives.

Anyways I still like Plextor,as you can probably tell.Got an 8X that is still ticking,as well as a 24X.Glad they are back to making exceptional drives.

I have a 16x and a 40x plex. I have never had a problem with the 16x but, the 40x made quite a few coasters when I first got it. After a few firmware upgrades now it's fine. It seems like their covering all their bases by having good drives and the good service to go along with it.

Quality:--few years from now wont be a cd burners anymore.....Btw,you can buy 3 liteons or lg for that money--so think about!!

I finally made the jump to lite-on with their new 52x burner. I must say that I'm very pleased with the drive. I've had it since last christmas and it hasn't made a coaster yet and it does burn a full 701mb cd in 2:39.

Yep U got a good 1 there Blane

I got the same drive & it has never let me down yet

Only bad thing about it is it is a noisy drive when ejecting
