I recently got a Plextor 708a DVD+-RW. I also have a Plextor CDRW (241040a).
My box contains 3 Hard drives (7200rpm 80gb;5400rpm 80gb;5400rpm 60gb). I also have a Promise ATA 100 card(current Bios). Windows XP SP1.
The config i used was my 7200rpm on my Primary channel, DVDRW on the secondary channel, the two 5400rpm drives on the primary channel of the promise card, and the CDRW on the secondary channel of the promise card.
Since doing this i get the odd blue screen at start up which gives the following details..
"DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x00000000, 0x00000007, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"
This also happens if i try to use the Nero System Tool.
However if i disconnect either the CDRW or the DVDRW I do not get this error at start up or in Nero. Both have the latest firmware.
Does anyone have any ideas? I spent a good part of my day yesterday swapping software/hardware in and out and reconfig'ing to try to narrow down my issue but no luck.
Also is that a good configuratoin or could i benefit from a different way? I have read alot not to put the CDRW and DVDRW on the same channel.. any reason why if they are both running at the same speed?
Thanks for your help in advance! greatly appreciated
