yes cable is correct and the media with the right side
i don't think i could ever insert the media upside down

check DMA ,install PlexTools(sometimes help) , check slave status(backside of recorder)

Strange thing. I use the same burner and never had any prob.

I would not change DMA or anything before having a working Plextor.

Try as master - without the lg.
