plextool problem

i have just got a plexwrite 40/12/40a when i install plextools with the writer hooked up to my artec 16 speed dvd drive my desktop lockes up if i do it as a standalone install my plextools run no problem i want to have it hooked up to the dvd drive anybody suggestions please btw the writer works no problem hooked up to the dvd drive

Set the plex as master and the dvd as slave on the secondary IDE

that is the way i have them set up with plextools in when i open my computer there is nothing there
