My problem is that i have information on a cd that was saved on the cd while i was using windows millenium. Now i got windows xp and the information on the cd does not show but if i put the cd-r in my friends computer who has millenium, it works and the information is displayed. why is this. Can i do something to make the cd work on xp

I dont know wat u mean by "is the cd closed", how can i find out how do i open it. i really need help, its very much appreciated

how can i find out how do i open it.

you don't need to open your CD,
you have to close/finalize the CD to make the content readable at all drives/systems; best is, to do this at your friends PC by using the software which created the CD initially;

I have just done the same thing. I have not recieved my computer yet with xp. I did notice when i finalized the cd it said it was ready to be used in win 98, 2000, me. It did not say xp so iwas worried about mine not working.

XP couldn't be mentioned, because XP didn't exist in the development/release time of ME;
anyway it should work in XP too;
