HI guys
PLease bear with me, i'm new to this
I have a DVD Rip ( AVI ) that doesnt play on my standalone DVD player, and i want to convert it to a file that does. I've tried converting it to \Mpeg, but the filesize is too big, (Panasonic Mpeg Encoder)
My Player supports VCD, so could you please advise on a goos program to use?
I have tried TMPGEnc, but i get an error message, when i start to encode ( Can't load "P3Package.dll" ) can anyone please help me with the settings

-537407731 98704

I read the afterdawn thread, funny I have ALWAYS run Tmpgenc form a shortcut off my desktop and never an error. If tmpgenc.exe was moved to the decktop and run from there I would then expect the rror, but not as a shortcut.

Re-install TMPGEnc to the same folder you curreently have it installed to, right click on TMPGEnc.exe and then select "Sent To", then Destop (Create Shortcut). And use that shortcut.

Then have a read of http://forum.cdrsoft.cc/showthread.php?s=&threadid=161 to help you with the conversion.

Thanks for that chickenman
I have followed your tutorial, and i am still getting the same error message

ERROR -537407731 98704
If i click ok on the dialogf box , it comes up with the same error message, but a diffferent number?????????
:( :( :( :(

thanks anyway

A Sad Si

To add to this, i have just tried another DVD Rip and when it starts encoding, the program shuts down after abot 5 - 10 seconds????????????????

I have also tried Panasonic Mpeg encoder, and the output file is very large ( about 2.5 gig ) whereas the source is about 640 meg.
This is REALLY annoying me

I had this same problem when trying to encode "Xvid" DVD rips using TMPenc. I don't if your problem is related or not but grabbing the "DivXTotalPack 1.2.zip" solved most of my problems with Xvid stuff. You can find it on IRC.

I had the same error and solved mine by moving a shortcut of the folder to the desk top and opening from there.

Thanks for the advice guys,
I have just had success with the Panasonic encoder :D

Beware though, I'm sure I'll be Back:D
