Pioneer DVR-107D v1.13 - RPC-1, 12xRip, nx4all Firmware

Released 25 April 2004.
Qoute by NIL.. (The firmware page)
OK, since Pioneer are taking their time at releasing 1.14+, I might as well patch 1.13. But this probably means that whatever Pioneer does, the next patched firmware will not happen for at least another month.

This being said, I think we're pretty much where we want to be, since this firmware should offer you:
- all speeds on DVD-R (including 4x)
- all speeds on DVD+R (yes, you will be able to burn 4x +R media at 6x and 8x )
- all speeds on DVD-RW (1x, 2x and 4x)

Note that at this stage, this firmware should still be considered EXPERIMENTAL.

Maybe if I had put in the release date you would of know it came out today...
In fact not so long ago it got posted... No sweat VIPER.

okies well i put my head between my knees and kissed my butt goodbye and flashed up for the second time to my few day old 107 and looks fine so far so good :)

but BE WARNED FLASHING DRIVES CAN CAUSE POTENTIAL DRIVE FAILURE

if in doubt then leave it out !

and dont flash the drive if you are not confident of what you are doing :)

ok update .... i had problems with this firmware it would not allow me to erase a dvdrw

so i had to flash back to version DVR-107Dv1.05_RPC-1+12xRip+8xDVD-R_WINDOWS_XP That laz posted a link to in the firmware section :)

version 2 of this hacked firmware

Hi VIPER and anyone else having problems with this hacked firmware there is a version 2 release on the same lin,Release #1 has been replaced totaly by release #2 and the archive file name is kept intact to preserve the hyperlinks to it.
I have been using version 1 with no problems what so ever in my firewire/usb2 housing.Burning apps RecordNowMax 4.5, Alcohol 120...
I did read also there are a few folks with erase dvdrw problems in some build of Nero..Try using DvdinfoPro to erase disc.;)

OK, I just released version 2 of the 1.13 patch ('Fullhouse' Release )
This should add all speed on RITEK R03 / CMC +R media and all speeds on +RW

As far as testing is concerned, I tried to burn a CMC 2.4x +RW media at 4x but the drive didn't like it. Works fine at 2.4x.
Hope you guys will get better results than me.

As to axela's issue, I'll check this out. Can other people confirm that the patched firmware cannot erase +RW while official can, and that the problem is localized with Nero?

Also from NIL.
Just (quick) erased my +RW disc (the CMC 2.4x one that wouldn't burn at 4x) using Nero 6.3.0.2
Be carefull that unless you state otherwise, Nero will select the maximum speed for the erase, which might of course be troublesome if it's higher than the maximum rated speed.

One last note, I am of course using release #2 of the 1.13 firmware.

Therefore, I cannot confirm the problem you have.

I tried erasing a Verbatim DVD-RW 2x with Nero. No go, 2x quick erasing starts, it says it will take 1m 55s but at the 5s mark, the progress bar goes to 100% and spits the DVD out. I cant write to it or anything, all I get is all sorts of errors. Tried RNM (it tries at 4x but cant select a lower speed) and went exactly the same. Then tried DiscJuggler 4.1 and works perfectly.

I then tried a Pioneer 2x DVD-RW (that I got with my original A05) and Nero quick erased it fine at 2x !

HMMMMMM best get juggler reinstalled then :)

im back up to the current build of firmware anyhow for now i can manage without the dvdrw im quite confident with dvd burning now :)

thanks for the info and the link rasta that seems to be the prob with the firmware it trys to make a 2x dvdrw burn at 4x and this where the problem lies :(

hes going to re-release the firmware and drop the dvdrw back down to 2x or 2.4x :)

hopefully this will resolve the issue :)

Updat Release 3

Upated a release 3 version has be added.
Additional notes for Release #3: (Link is the same)
- nx4all is disabled on RW media and will remain so.
- RITEK R03 and CMC MAG_E01 +R media should have all speed enabled .

Look here Pioneer hack

There is now Release #4 which has nx4all disabled for +RW media only. Enabled for -RW. Same download link, same file name, just check in the Readme file what version youhave. I'm sticking with Release #3, as I rarely use RW's anyway.
