pioneer 107d firmware help

after updating firmware to 1.10 and 1.16 and 1.18 i have to keep flashing the drive to get it to write at 8x on 4x riteks.is the drive faulty or is there a simple solution?

are they genuine riteks !?

what program are you using to burn !?

you may not get 8x across the complete burn it often takes its time to build up across the burn process starting slow and getting faster towards the middle /end to max speed as the data fluctuates as its streaming

are you doing much other stuff with the computer at the same time !?

they are genuine riteks.using nero 6 ultra.
when it burns at 8x it takes 8mins for a full dvd.

erm thats about right for 8x remember you are burning 4.7gb of data compared to 700mb of data with a cdr burner a huge difference in data sizes and if you google around you will see its about the average sorta time for 8x burning altho with +r media you may get slightly faster burns

but with 8x selected it will take about 22mins for 4.7gb.
