when i insert i blank cd or dvd it dosent show what the disk is or the size on the disk autorun is enabled.is there a way to sort this?

check that you do not have the jumpers on the back set the same as any other drive or cd rom in your system the 107 should be set to master and anything else on that ide channel should be set to slave

it is set to master and other device as slave.

Placing a BLANK cd or dvd into the 107 will do nothing. Its blank so what do you expect to happen. Autorun has nothing to run, they are blank.

If you run DVD Decrypter and hit W after putting a blank DVD into the 107, then it will show the size of the DVDR and the Manufactures code, etc. But you have to run it.

If you have your software in "irritating mode", your Writing software tends to pop up when a blank is inserted - for CD, it normally assumes that you want to write a CD-R or UDF format a CD-RW - fine if you only use one program/suite, but it's a feature I turn off instantly.

@ chickenman doh ...... somedays we tend to miss the blatently obvious doh !!! and YESTERDAY was my day lol thanks for pointing out the obvious there bud lol


you can also get more information about the blank using dvdinfo or other such dvd media tool that displays various information about its manufacturer or dye structure etc
