Pioneer 106d burning problem

Everytime I burn a dvd with this drive there is a discoloured
ring around the disk at about halfway through the burn,
I was using the hacked firmware 1.07 but changed to the official
1.07 firmware,(fault still there)
Sometimes the disk plays fine other times it doesn't.

I've tried making it master and also slave but the problems still there,
Iv'e been using nero 6.0.0.0.(think thats it)
but updated to the latest 6.3.0.2 and still this problem exists

Would trying the older nero 5.5 make any difference and if so what
versions support the pioneer 106d ?

Send it back m8 if it was made in october 2003 quite a number of these drives have the same fault and it is a fault. Mine is from the same month seems ok, but it makes me wonder if its 100%.

Could also be a media problem.What media are you using.

It's not a media problem ,I tried loads of different media
ritek included,
Looks like I'll have to try and send it back
had it a while tho!!

Cheers for heads up addie ,I managed to
return it and got a brand spanking new
pioneer 107D as replacement
