pioneer 106d best dvd-rw brand hlp req

what brand would anyone recommend for my pioneer 106d to use as dvd-rw
or dvd+rw im not certain what id like to do is backup data now and again
and also test out my dvd copy software so as not to have to waste blank dvdr's ie backing up films and then find out it didnt come out good and so have to waste another blank,so i though dvd-rw would be a good way to experiment with. i have wasted a few blanks backing up films only to watch them either stutter jerk freeze then start again,

I'm currently using the Verbatim DVD-RW 2x, made by CMC Magnetics and find them excellent.

The stutter & jerks tend be from your DVD Player, most have trouble reading DVDRWs at the best of times. Try burning at 1x (yes a LOOOOONG time) but generally has smoother playback.

thanks for reply i used dvd shrink 3.16 and nero to burn should i set certain settings in shrink or just leave at default

Just leave as is but remove unwanted audio tracks, extras, etc as the more rubbish you can remove the less compression need for the movie and therefore better quality. If you hit the re-author button and drag the main movie only across, remove unwanted audio & subtitles, then you will get the best pic quality possible with Shrink.
