PINK problem with TMPGEnc.......HELP

this is my problem.............

i play the downloaded avi file on my PC without first putting it throu TMPGEnc and it plays fine.

but if i put it throu TMPGEnc then playing it on my PC or burning it to disc and playing it in my DVD player every 10 second or so the whole picture starts to fade into a light shade of a pink'ish colour.
then it jumps back to normal colour then starts turning pink'ish again.

like i say this happens every 10 /15 seconds
i think it has only just started to happen on the last few films i have done.
but i havent change any settings on TMPGEnc i use it like i normaly do.
i've also uninstalled and reinstalled TMPGEnc and it does the same thing and i have enough HD to play about with.

PLEASE can anyone help.
many thanks.

thanks for that ChickenMan
but one more question :
what is the Nimo pack, and where go i go to uninstall it ?
many thanks
JOE

If you dont know what the Nimo pack is ( a collection of codec bundled together to cause conflicts/problems!) then you dont have it installed. Just ignor my comment then.

ChickenMan can you help me out

i've had a few goes at converting iva to vcd with the little downloaded programs you told me about (DivX Codec 5.0x, DivX 3.11a and Xvid Codec all installed)
but i'm still getting these flashes of pink on the screen.

please can you tell me what do i need to how downloaded and i what order do i have to install them on my PC.

i know i have to have TMPGEnc then what ?
is it then DivX Codec 5.0x, DivX 3.11a and Xvid Codec
i even have the plus version of TMPGEN is this is any help?

is that all i need or am i missing something else
or do you think i have something else installed what i should not have installed

please help if you can............ANYONE:confused:

There is an obvious codec problem, the origianl DivX has probably been encoded with a different version and decoding is causing the pink lines.

Run GSpot ( from http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ ) and it will tell you exactly the codec you need.

You also installed the 3 codec correctly as well.

THANKS ChickenMan
but no luck..........
i've used gspot and at the video format it says
"mp43" "S-Mpeg 4 version 3"
"codec IS installed"

and at the audio format it says
"0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-2 Layer 3"
"codec IS installed"

sorry to kepp bugging you
but there must be some i not doing right ?
can you think of anything else it might be
SORRY again
help if you can
THANKS
JOE:( :(

Some common TMPGEnc problems:

If you get an error message when opening like file unsupported or can not open or is not supported
or you get an empty(black) video preview window
or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink
Try first to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.
If that does not help be sure that you have installed DivX or XviD or MPG2 or DV Codecs and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack.

THANKS FOR ALL YOU HELP ;) ;)
