Picture Flips

Ive got a Video_TS VOB that is in Pal format. Its too big to fit on 1 DVD disk so ive used DVD Shrink to make it able to fit. So far so good.
Ive burned it on to a DVD and when I play it on one of my home DVD players it works just fine. I even went into setup for the player and it was set for NTSC. So far so good again because I live in the states and prefer it in NTSC.
Now the problem. When I play it on my preffered home DVD player, the one with all the bells and whistles and Surround Sound, it flips as if the tv horizontal has a problem which i know it doesnt.
Im sure it has something to do with it being a Pal movie but why would it work on one player and not the other. Is it a bitrate problem? Then why would it work on one and not the other. Very confusing
The setup settings are pretty much the same on both of them.
Does anyone know of detailed steps on how to remedy this?
Would be greatly appreciated.

It's quite possible that you have a player that only plays NTSC, which is why the PAL dvd doesn't work. Check the owners manual.

I looked

I looked and looked in the DVD Player manual and didnt see anything on NTSC or PAL. You could be right. Maybe it only plays NTSC.
I did burn a disc in the past that turned out to be PAL and all it did on the player was come out real jerky but like I said this is different. Horizontal lines from menu, on.
Im re-encoding as im typing this, using Nero 6.
I had a quick question, what is demuxing??
Will let you know how things turn out.
Thanks all for your reply's on this subject.

Problem solved!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.......
We did it, thanks to all help from the forum.
I converted the .vob file to avi using DVD2AVI. From there I was able to load it into virtual dub and change it from 25fps to 29.97 and it turned out great.
No loss in quality and no out of sync problems.
But especially, no more flickering.
Thanks to the help of all those who contributed.
