picture breaking up & going to green screen

I have converted a xvid to meg using TMPGEnc, when playing the finished film back it plays perfect also when burned to vcd. When i however play it on my standalone dvd player the pic breaks up & after a few minuites the screen just goes green . Ive tried burning it again just to make sure its not a bad disk . Does any1 have any possible answers ?

Slow the burn speed down. Do not expect a 1x DVD Player (equal to 8x CDRROM) to be able to read a CDR burnt at 40x plus.

yep .. I burnt movies at 16 x - 24x for a m8 ... said it was blocky as hell .. bak to 12x burning now ... 8x they reckon best speed

Thanx very much guys, slowing the burn speed down resolved the problem
