philips dvd 711 problems

ok, i've burned svcd, vcd, everything is good!

but, my dvd player will play vcds, but when i insert a svcd, it will start reading, and then just EJECT!

i dont know why, the tray just OPENS, and it only OPENS on SVCD!

i have a philips 711 firmware 7.12

checked on vcdhelp.com and no one had the same problem or posted it...help!!

I have that same model of player, but not sure on my firmware. Mine will play SVCDs fine. How do you know what firmware you are using?

I would suggest you look at different types of CDR then and try lowereing your burn speed, 4x or 8x are good.
