Philips and BenQ start new joint venture

Just thought I would fill everyone in.

Philips and BenQ have signed a contract to start a new joint venture project for all optical drives.

Philips will hold 51% interest and BenQ will hold 49%.
Philips will also handle all procurement for the project. It has not been decided where the new company will be established. Either in Atlanta, GA. with Philips or in City of Industry, CA. with BenQ would be my first guess's.

As you all should know, Philips had the best DSP in optical drives for not stalling on Fast Error Skip.

I will keep everyone aprised as I get info about this.

By the way with all these joint venture's about did you hear that they are going to bundle their software with....wait for it................... NeRoxz Pro Diamond cd and dvd burning software....by Ahead&Roxio
