pests??

Just my two cents:
I've got in the past the same warning using a real, unmodified unicows.dll (needed by my Openoffice suite). The warning came by (surprise!) pest patrol. But when I checked the file MD5 hash (by Total Commander) the calculated one was totally different from the one reported by pest patrol!
So, the verdict was that the real trojan was Pest Patrol itself- binned for good and never put back.
Regards.

Thanks a lot..as you re saying its more effective(never think of that)
Not sure bud. I'm speculating. It would pass some checks better this way. I do not have this file on either of my WinXP 'puters, so I'm not sure what else to add.

However, what scarecrow has said is something to think about. If you remember, there was a discussion here on the Forum on how Jamieo (of Burnatonce) was using a spyware installer. It turned out to be a false positive there as well. So the evidence is mounting that PestPatrol may not be all that effective.

You will most probably lose support for unicode- and little more than that.
If you make a repair of your MSoffice installation you will get the file back.
