Some people shouldn’t be allowed near a computer never mind own one.
I had a call from a friend’s wife. She was trying to use a fax program to receive a fax. Even though I had already shown her, in detail, how to send and receive faxes, she was still having problems. All she had to do to receive a fax was run the fax program, nothing else, as I had set it all up.
Turns out all she had done was turn on her computer, that’s it. She didn’t run the fax program and while waiting for the fax to arrive, decided to check her email, meaning she was tying up the phone line. I explained that you need the fax program running and to not tie up the phone line by checking emails.
She was still having problems, even after following my instructions, so I went out to her house. When I got there I asked her to show me what she had done.
“There you go” she says, “I run the fax problem, I didn’t go online and I still can’t receive the fax?”
I asked if that was exactly what she had done?
She had forgot one important part…….
Having ran the fax program, she thought she would minimize it but was clicking on the ‘X’ which closed the program down !!!!!
Yep, after a 100 mile round trip to sort this problem out…..I could have strangled her!!!!
I would allow her to use a pocket calculator….at the very most!
