Game Patches On The Disk
In most cases with these releases the protection is gone and the patch is a cracked exe file normally to bypass any Cd checks for the game in question.
And Clony can still say it is protected,
a quick test would be to make an image of this disk if it's protected by safedisk 1 or 2 and see if it still has the read errors in the 1st 10% of the disk during the reading.
If no errors are present and it was meant to be protected by safedisk then the protection is removed.

As blakesimba said, it really depends on what kind of patch the game has, some are just no cd patches in which case it just stops the original looking for information off the cd so you can play without the cd in your comp.
others are cracks that take or bypass the protection out of a game so you can copy(clone) it with no problems.

yup the guys are spot on .....also you'll find on some releases that they have bypassed the protection but not the cdcheck so the cd is still needed, i have found that to be the case on a few releases i have had..
