I assume your talking about the standalone Pana encoder and not the pluggin?
What sort of files are you trying to convert and are you making VCD's or just MPEG files?
Also, what colour depth is your screen, increase to 24 or 32bit if it is not.

Over a year ago I visited Microsoft knowledge base (whatever it is) and it had the answer about upside down picture. I don't remember the problem caused by video card, driver, or what but you are not the only one, and it happens to many people.
I believe I read one in Usenet too, but had no interest in it so didn't read the thread.
