Panasonic LF-311SC

I have a Panasonic LF-311SC dvd burner and I am having problems to burn a non cartridge DVD. I cannot de-activate the non-write protection for this type of disc. I can write to a cartridge disk but not to a non cartridge disk. Also where can I find some technical and operation instructions for this unit
