Hello
Carrying on from a previous post, somewhere, I have now copied a SVCD/MPeg2 direct to disk from my hd which plays great on my home dvd player with the exception that heads are chopped. Do the mpeg's chop the top and bottom layers of svcd as the mp3 does with music rendering a virtual unwatchable file??
Plse help - thx - desperation setting in

Nothing is chopped if yourve followed my Tutes. I would suggest your TV and/or DVD Player cannot play SVCD correctly, thats all.

Also, check your DVD Players Setup Menu that the playback TV is set to the correct type (be it PAL or NTSC) and not on Default or Auto or similar.

Which program did you use to convert to SVCD? Was the file already converted?

Check out whether your DVD player is capable of playing SVCD - DVD Player Compatibility List.

If it is a problem with the DVD player you could try doing the VCD Header Trick using TMPGEnc. This places a VCD header on the SVCD-MPEG2 file which will hopefully help trick the DVD player into reading it without too much trouble.
