Pacific Digital

I have a Pacific Digital 48x12x48 IDE burner. Win 2K installed it's own driver for it (didn't come with any in the box). Is there somewhere I can find a driver for it so Nero will recognized properly. I looked at Pacific Digital's website and it directed me to a Lite-On website. I didn't know which on to use, so, I thought I'd ask questions.

Thanks in advance.

Pacific Digital are a rebrander.

Windows will generally only recognize anything as a CD-ROM.
Has Nero FAILED to recognize it?
Do you have a correct bundle version for it - if you had Nero bundled with a different drive before, it may be locked to it!

Nero see's it just fine, just doesn't have the correct name like my other drives in the past. could write faster, but, what the hay.

So what does it call it?
The 48x speed limits it....
It would appear to be a Liteon LTR 48125W - by their own description - perhaps all they change is the faceplate name or the cardboard box?

For this class of drive, Nero should have TWO checkboxes visible when OPTIONS are selected in Recorder Properties -

The Usual (on the LEFT) "Smart-Burn" - Liteon's name for their version of "BurnProof" technology.

On the RIGHT, the selection of speed control technology (not sure what Liteon call theirs -= probably smart-something!)

You know, off the top of my head (not at home yet, will check tonight) I believe it's called "5W48" or something along those lines. I'll look for the options as well.
