Option to force title or root menu on disc load?

How about an option to force the title or root menu as the first play item?

I've seen cases where DVDStripper has removed nag screens and also removed that command. The result is a disc which starts with the first play item, not the menu.

That's really more of a parsing issue but this might be a good failsafe.

I 2nd that

Better yet, how about letting the user decide which the second disc should start with? Maybe some people want disc 2 to start with the first play item.

this is a very hard thing to do :(

the easy part is telling the player to jump to the menu or main movie. The hard part is when the player kicks you back to where it came from as it's missing the register values

if the value is not valid in the commands then the DVD player will go back to the point where the value should have been set (e.g. language screen). Sometimes this can cause looping and basically the DVD will never play as it get's stuck in a loop :(

that's why it's best to leave the jumping alone unless you can spend the time to investigate which settings should be what, where and when :)

2COOL's manual guides are the best you can use on this subject :D, but automating it is a very tricky business :(

I was hoping you wouldn't say something like that.

I've noticed already a number of idfferent flow controls for menus. I've also found it's best to put the complete menu on each disc if at all possible. Missing regular items seem to return properly. Missing menu items can create a crash. Unfortunately, some very complex titles include play items in the menus. That's frustrating.

some Titles actually contain menu's and buttons which makes it even more complicated!! I'm hoping to eliminate all this uncertainty soon ;)

as for changing startup options then it's a whole different ball game with some DVD's. It's one that can get real messy in the hands of someone with basic knowledge, never mind a newbie :(, but it's not impossible ;). I may be able to develop tools that will help with it. It may still need some manual intervention at some point but at the minute it's down my list of priorities

Hello MackemX-

I see things are evolving! Any chance the above referenced issue will be addressed?

Hi

nothing much has developed in this area as it's hard to do and affects very few

if you use MenuModder as the previewer you can see if any VOB has buttons and in time you will be able to keep the buttons but remove the video

Regards!
