Opinions Please

Is the HP CD-Writer 9510i any good i've had my eye on a Yamaha CRW2100IX 16x10x40 External Firewire Burner for $161.00 at w*w.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=C2100FX-R and it usually sells for $300 ne where else. Also does ne1 know where i can get a USB to Firewire Adapter. As far as the hp goes it went good at first but now coasters are more common an i've only had it for about 5 months. if I do get the C2100FX-R i'm selling the HP for 75 which is 15 less the what i paid for it. also the computer i have only alows 1 cd-rom drve(thanx hp for putting in and extra 3.5 bay i will never use)and after making a few psx images it uses up HDD space only have 5GB out of 20 GB Left

I personally prefer the yammi - but im biased. :)

1. I think Belkin might have usb to firewire convertor/adpator. Not entirely sure.
2. Is it a 3.5 caddy? if so remove it.
3. :rolleyes: Go get a new harddrive 60 gig - they arent that expensive :)

I've used HP 9510i And I had a lot of suceess with it I burned a lot of coasters till I added more ram over 512 MB The one thing I didn't like was no burn proof

Now i'm looking at the LiteOn LTR-40125S since it's cheaper and faster but i realy want to go external since my computer only has 1 CD Bay.

@Shadey
as far as i know it's not a 3.5 caddy it's part of the computer.

I just bought the Acer 3210P 32x10x40
CD-R-RW and the only software so far I've found that doesn't support it is CDRWIN
and Adaptec CD Creator, it's fast and it was cheap( I got it at Best Buy for $139.00 US and as far as I know it'll burn sd2 copies
