One day no read errors, next day with errors

I am new to backing up dvds and I thought it is easy until I get these read errors. I use Decrypter, DVD2One and CloneDVD to burn my DVDs(2.4X). I also use DVDInfoPro to read my burned dvds for errors. One day, I got no errors and the next day, I get read errors using this dvdinfopro. I don't understand why. By the way, I am using Memorex +R. Only one movie stays error free, Lion King SE.

Any input as to why this is happening? I suspect it's my media, thinking of getting TDK. I have Pioneer 106D with firmware 1.05.

Thanks.

Others have reported lots of problems with those Memorex disks. Also I think you will find the Pioneer likes to burn -R rather than the +R, so try some new media, even -R ones.

Thanks for your reply. Did some testing today using dvdinfopro on the same discs on both of my Pioneer drives; rom and writer. My rom reported some disc errors while my writer didn't. I did this twice to make sure but the same results. Even the disc lengths are different, bigger on my rom drive. Played back on my old Pioneer DV333 and guess what, everything was fine with no problems at all. I guess I can't rely on my rom drive for reading burned discs. Will try to use -r discs next time. Thanks for your info.
