ogg

Ogg is an alternative to MP3 and far superior IMHO.

EAC is the best but I prefer CDex for simplicity. :D

Yes I have read the same thing about Musepack, that it is indeed the best.
But I've never encoded with Musepack so I was wondering if anybody knows what the compression ratio is like for it?

Oh, and, as far as encoding Ogg files I did one last night using Cdex and it sounded great. Of course, EAC is probably equally good if not better, but I've not tried it so I can't say with certainty.

The latest version of the Ogg Drop encoder is nicely tweakble.. :)

Download from the ' Xiph ' site, a group dealing/inventing the likes of .ogg audio and other media projects.. (an .ogg like video format is underway..)
