ogg vorbis: better than mp3?

Ogg Vorbis isn't just a pretty name. The "Ogg" part refers to the Ogg Project, an Open Source multimedia initiative; "Vorbis" is the name of the actual audio compression format. Ogg Vorbis is a new audio compression format that sounds better than MP3, and, you guessed it, it's Open Source. We'll get to the significance of a freely developed audio format in a moment. For now suffice it to say that Ogg Vorbis is comparable to compression formats such as AAC, TwinVQ, PAC and MPEG-4. more at: h**p://w*w.angrycoffee.com/tutorials/vorbis/index.html

I have d/l a whole cd in ogg.format: does anybody knows about it? which burn programme is compatible with it?

Easy, huh?

BTW, ogg is not the audio-codec, but vorbis!! Ogg is only a container like avi

gks2000,

When you go here:
http://www.burnatonce.com/downloads.shtml

Download BurnAtOnce and then be sure to download the Vorbis Tools and the OggDS (you need this if you want to preview a song in BurnAtOnce before burning). They belong in your external tools folder: C:\Program Files\burnatonce\external

Also, be sure you have a healthy ASPI 4.60 installed or you are going to have problems.

gks2000,

Go here: http://www.burnatonce.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=3#aspi460

Near the bottom of the page are the files and instructions on installing ASPI. Just look under the heading:
----TESTED ON WINDOWS XP----

The final step even provides a ASPI "checker" to verify that you got it right. It is a small tool that will show green and give you a message saying it is correct; otherwise, it will show red and give you a message saying that there is a problem with your ASPI installation.
