ogg audio probs with divx

hi ppl
y can't i play sound ouput in linux while using mplayer when playing a clip encoded with xvid 4 video & ogg vorbis 4 audio?
ogg vorbis is supposed to be well supported,y can't mplayer provide me with the sound ?
(on windoz i do get the sound )

What about the norm? (xine). If the modules are installed properly, it plays back almost any sort of video clip you can imagine.
Can you report the ogg and avi library versions that you use?

Presumably we aren't talking about an AVI here though.. Is it OGM or MKV?

Sorry I can't really help though, as I know basically nothing about linux. I did have a bit of a play with the windows build of the player though.

libraries ,i dunno,i suppose those which r by default in mplayer.i do get the video,but with no sound.
personally i dont like xine coz there's 2 much dependencies & packages 2 look 4 to install,& the last & first time i used xine it crashed & can't play xvid encoded video
