Office 2000 ServPack1-1a blacklist

i noticed on installing autodesk mechdesktop 6 that my office2k stoped functioning.

it started with outlook & then the rest of the suite over the next few days.

after some research i found that all of the latest autodesk products install office2k sevice pack 1/1a elements, including the blacklisting of all office cd keys starting with GC6J3

this is commonly use on unauthorised copies

reinstall ofice2k with an alternative cd key & reinstall service pack

if anyone has had this problem i hope this helps

That's what I suspected for some time. After updating with SP, my office 2k applications simply closedthemselves after startup. So I simply did not install SP.
I could not find any threads on this on the net before nor any alternative keys. I will try them next time I install Off2k

Exactly the same problem, after updating from a magazine cover CD stuffed with updates, two of which were for Office 2000, thought it would be ' safer ' to update offline...

there are several products around that will cause this problem by installing sp elements

who knows what surprises future sp have.

Actually, there's a way to do this re-installing Office 2000. Read the instructions in the attached file as to how to fix the problem without a complete re-install. It does work.
