O&O Defrag V6

Thank you, sir... my favorite defragger, real professional quality, and bugs reduced to a bare minimum.
The fact that they update every series of their products just once or twice speaks volumes about their value.

Am I missing something here? lol :D

I'm running V4 which I thought was the latest til now, now v6 is launched?!?

Is this just yet another sotware companies fascination with calling their product "v6" or did I fall asleep when v5 was launched? :D

Thanks Bionic!

Must agree with scarecrow... it is my favorite defragger. It's a must have on any Win2k or XP computer.

Yeah, I used to think Diskeeper 7 was a decent defragger until scarecrow said try O&O and have not looked back since!

It is soooooo quick for me on both W2K & XP NTFS installs.

Hmmm, maybe this one isn't for me.

I installed the 'Professional' workstation trial.

I have two scsi hard drives. Drive one is partitioned into volumes C, D, E. Drive 2 is parted as vols. F, G.

O&O Defrag is only detecting 2 volumes. Both are for Drive 2, parts F, G.

Drive 1 is nowhere in sight. Anyone have any ideas?

I unstalled the Professional edition and tried the trial of the Server edition. Still no luck. Only the second hard drive (partitions F & G) are detected.

Scarecrow, have you got any ideas of why this is occurring? Thanks.

Having similar problems in my main puter (one existing logical drive not recognized). I have addressed O@O support, and awaiting for an answer.

Thanks scarecrow.

[There's a documentary about "Give Up Yer Aul Sins" on the RTE right now.]

O&O defrag only detected 2 of my 6 partitions.
Tried reinstalling but no luck so far.

Anyone can help me?

The problem with unrecognized FAT32 partitions was due to cluster sizes different than the standard (4k). If you mail the O@O support they will give you a link to the fix.
Still I'm not persuaded that the product is mature... it's damn fast OK, much faster than the previous version, but it does not inspire confidence...

One question guys, in O&O v6, it has this automatic defragmentation mode. Does this mode still do boot time defrags of the pagefile?

The technicians at O&O very graciously mailed a new Defrag client to repair the error on my FAT32 system. However, once I installed the new .msi, I found that there were program errors on cancelling the first defragmentation run and again on restarting the program.

Frankly, program speed and automatic defragmentation capability mean much less to me than stability and being able to get the best organisation of defragmented files.
