NTI CD Maker Pro & WinXP Problem

Previously I had posted a problem with NTI CD Maker Pro 5.1.1.7 where I could not get NTI to recognize my LiteON 48x burner.
I have just built a new computer, using WinXP corp version. Just added NTI CD Maker Pro 5.1.17 and again I am having problems. The NTI program does not recognize my LiteOn Burner. I had installed ASPI 4.71. The ASPI check showed all is working well and properly installed. I have disabled the cd burner in WinXP.
Any ideas as to hoe I can get NTI CD Maker to recognize my burner?
Thanks

Yep, I posted about these problems in "CDR" last week and all the woe I had with it on XP. poko is dead right about the problem being the cruddy Paradox release.

I had V5.1.1.17 on Win XP Pro and it just freezes all the damn time leaving the restart button as your only way out, I installed the latest update over the top and as you say....lost all my freakin CD/DVD drives!!!!! :( I've not tried the update over a Paradox release on my W2K yet as...if it ain't broke.....

I also posted the solution in that thread on how to get your CD drives back with a simple registry edit, trust me that will sort it for you.

But as poko keeps saying, stay away from the Paradox releases.

I thought that I was using the download from CDR soft. I have just downloaded the CDR Soft version of NTI 5.1.17, and will delete NTI & reinstall the newly downloaded file. I also have the ..bdb file from NTI.
Just curious, is the oxide version of NTI CD Maker as bad as paradox?
Lastly, I noticed on NTI's web site that an update exists for NTI CD Maker PRO, to update it to v5.1.29. Assuming I straighten NTI out, will the update cause any further problems?
Thanks

I wanted to pass on my fix.
I downloaded the CDR version of NTI CD Maker 5.1.17
I went to NTI's web site and downloaded the upgrade to version 5.1.29, and the .bdb file Poko referred to and followed the instructions of NTI's site on the .bdb file.
I deleted NTI CD Maker and reinstalled the CDR version, added the .bdb file and then upgraded to version 5.1.29
Voila! Life is good!
Thank you
