NTFS or FAT32 ?

Your reply set me thinking!

I have a useful utility for Floppies (attached if it's any interest to anyone) which includes an info facility.

Had a quick look at a couple of recent floppies and they are all fat12. Haven't tried formatting any at fat16, but will experiment when I have the time.

NTFS

hello everybody,

as always this site is the best.

i just wanna tell ya all about my experince with FAT32 and NTFS.

NTFS (or New Technology File System) has some advantages over FAT32, it allows bigger partitions, Compression, Encryption, Setting Permisions and many other goddies including as mentioned above eleminating the limit of file sizes to 4GB.

But it just eats out performance, i mean its slower than FAT32, and that annoyes me much.

I do have a collection of multiple file types (Data for my presentations) on 1 of my partitions exceeding 27,000 files on more than 2 GB.
NTFS takes much longer time browsing 'em than FAT32.

I hope somebody out there tell me a way to enhance NFTS speed other than (stop checking file date,.......)

thats how i c it. hope somebody finds anything usefull.
