Not Synchronized Video & Audio with Easy Divx

After ripping a DVD (5 Vob = 4.5Gb) and it was working fine from the HD I conveted it to Divx using Easy Divx 0.81

The movie sound was 5.1 , In Easy DIVx I used the stereo default and not the AC3
In step 5 I requested the file to be converted to PAL (it was originally NTSC USA.

I do not know if these settings related to the problem or not, but I prefere to mention it.

Any one know what's the problem may be!!!

Karamany

I had the same problem when I tried to convert PAL to NTSC using EasyDivX. After reading the pdf help file found on the EasyDivX site, it tells you that you must select the original format of the DVD (not a format you wish to convert to). :)

If you wish to convert to PAL I assume you would need to use a diff. prog.

Cheers

Shane :)

Still not synchronizd

I tried to again, and on this time I checked the NTSC choice,
still the audio is about 3-6 seconds after the video...

Any other suggestions!

Is the video off by a certain amount of time throughout the entire video (3 seconds off at the beginning, middle, and end), or does it start off being off by 3 secs at the beginning, then by the end it is off by 6 seconds?

If it is always off by 3 seconds, then i think that you can use virtualdub to adjust the audio manually.

Hope this helps

If the audio is off by a constant amount, yes, VirtualDUB can fix that for you.

I would suggest you read the Tutorial section on the use of Vidonie as the converter of VOB to DivX, I have never had a a/v synce problem with it.

I would suggest you NEVER convert one format (NTSC or PAL ) from one to the other, you will always end up with jerky playback and a PC could not care less if its NTSC or PAL. Always convert PAL to PAL and NTSC to NTSC and you will never get any problems.

Thank you all for the help,

ChickenMan, I will read the tutorial and follow its rules.

Clark031, the sound is not synchronized with same amount over the movie, sometimes 3 seconds, other times I belive may be 5 minutes...

Thank you both for your help.
