norton system works updates saving hlp req

i have to format my hard drive but id like to save all the norton updates
that are there instead of downloading them again to update the files
virus checker utilities etc is ther a way i could save just the updates themselves, then after i format i just have to reinstall the programe then put the updates back if i know what each update was and what the files were called i could do it maybe is it possible please let me know if it can be done and how

the only offline updates you can get are AntiVirus engine and virus definitions; the one and only package: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/download/pages/US-N95.html

for sure this is the main part of all available updates; the rest won't increase your online time really;

Well downloaded updates are saved in Program Files\Common Files\Symantec\Live update.
Take the latest folder and put it in the newer installation and you're done.

it didnt work when i rebooted and went on line to check all was ok reguarding
any more updates and to make sure it worked i got an error LU1814 After you start LiveUpdate, you see the message "LU1814: LiveUpdate could not retrieve the update list. LiveUpdate could not retrieve the catalog file of available Symantec product and component updates. Please verify that you are able to connect to the Internet and run LiveUpdate again . - so i gave up up
