Well I had NAV 2002 Corporate here and decided to upgrade to NAV 2003, so I unninstalled 2002 using Add Remove Plus, and also unninstaled Live Update that were listed in the unninstall menu...

Rebooted.. and started installing 2003, in the end of the install it said that Live Update had some problems registering and it wouldn't be available for that product, then I continued and later the install tryed to start a service (something SMevnt_mang, don't remember) and it couldn't continue the install...

What's wrong?

What I can tell you is that the so-called "retail" NAV 2003 you installed is a beta version of 2003. Intension probably thought it was amusing to try and fool the warez community. Ha ha.

Try reinstalling NAV. Live update usually remains on computer and it's not uninstalled with NAV. Search the forum, there's thread where you can get link to download and install live update separately.

live update sucks anyways. It will just be another extra thing running in the background of your PC (which only slows it down more).
Have been just manually updating for the past 2 years (if not longer) & never a problem like that (just check once a week or so for updates).

Of course, it's beta. And even if it weren't it's Symantec. The only positive thing I hear is Corp edition of NAV. I might just dare one day and download it. :p
